Each 1.0 gm of the lotion contains:  
Betamethasone (as dipropionate)    0.5 mg
Salicylic acid.                                  20.0 mg


DEFOSALIC lotion contains two active materials, Betamethasone dipropionate and salicylic acid. Betamethasone dipropionate is one of potent topical corticosteroids which used as anti-inflammatory, anti- pruritic with vasoconstrictive action.
Salicylic acid is a keratolytic, bacteriostatic and fungicidal agent on the infected skin. DEFOSALIC lotion used to reduce inflammation symptoms (redness and itching), treatment of psoriasis and other corticosteroid-responsive dermatitis.

Dosage and Administration

Always use DEFOSALIC lotion exactly as your physician has told you. 
You should check with your physician or pharmacist if you are not sure.
- Only use this lotion on your scalp.
- Do not use a large amount of scalp application for a long time (for example every day for many weeks or months).
- Avoid getting the lotion application in your eyes.
- Do not use this scalp application on your child's scalp for more than 5 days.
A few drops of DEFOSALIC lotion should be gently and completely rubbed into the affected area of scalp twice a day.
If you use more DEFOSALIC than you should:
Call your physician or go to the nearest hospital emergency unit immediately.
Overdosage: application of DEFOSALIC lotion in large quantities or on large body area may affect hormones and growth especially in children's.  It also may cause you to feel and/or be sick and to hear ringing in your ears.. 
If you forget to use DEFOSALIC: 
If you forget to use your scalp application at the right time take the missed dose as soon as you remember.
Skip the missed dose if it is almost the time for your next scheduled dose. 
Do not use extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
If you stop using DEFOSALIC:
If you have been using this medicine for a long time and your scalp problem seems to have got better, you should not suddenly stop using this medicine. If you do, you may notice scalp redness, stinging and burning. To avoid this, you should discuss with your doctor the gradual reduction of the dose till stop using the medicine.
