Composition
Each Oxiclav 625 mg tablet contains:
500 mg amoxicillin
125 mg clavulanic acid
Indications
Oxiclav is used to treat the following infections:

Middle ear and sinus infections

Respiratory tract infections
-
Urinary tract infections
-
Skin and soft tissue infections including dental infections

Bone and joint infections
Dosage and Administration
Adult and Children above 40 kg:
The usual dose is 1 tablet three times daily.
In very severe infections this dosage may be doubled.
Treatment with OXICLAV should not be extended beyond 14 days without review.
OXICLAV is absorbed whether taken during or before meals
In case of renal or hepatic impairnent dose may be reduced.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Penicillin.
Pregnancy and Lactation:
It is not advised to use OXICLAV in pregnancy especially in first trimester unless considered essential by the physician.
OXICLAV has shown no teratogenic effects as the product has been used in human pregnancy in a limited number of cases, with no untoward effects and also studies on animals take amoxicillin shown no teratogenic effect on delivery.
Amoxicillin is excreted into human milk in small amount, sensitization to infant may occur.
