HOW TO TAKE CEFAMAX
Always take CEFAMAX Capsules exactly as your physician has told you.
You should check with your physician or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Dosage
Your physician will determine what dose is appropriate for you.
Adults and Children over 50 kg or older than 12 years:
The routine dose is 200-400 mg once daily according to the severity of infection; the duration of treatment varies as following:
Upper Respiratory Tract Infection: 10 days course.
Pneumonia: 10 days course.
Tonsillitis/Pharyngitis: 10 days course.
Sinusitis: 10 to 14 days course.
Longer courses of therapy, 3 - 4 weeks may be required in recurrent cases.
Otitis Media: 10 to 14 days course.
Cystitis: 3 to 7 days course.
Gonococcal Infection Uncomplicated infections of the cervix, urethra, or rectum: one time.
Pyelonephritis: 14 days course.
Dosage readjustment may be required in patients with renal impairment.
Route of administration
Always swallow the whole capsules with plenty of water.
If you take more CEFAMAX than you should
Call your physician or go to the nearest hospital emergency unit immediately.
If you forget to take CEFAMAX
If you forget to take a dose, take the missed dose as soon as you remember it.
However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule.
Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.
If you stop taking CEFAMAX Capsules:
Do not stop taking CEFAMAX unless your physician tells you to.
